DIY HAND SANITIZER
- Rubbing alcohol (91%)
- Aloe vera gel (Find it near the sunscreens at stores.)
- Essential oil (optional)
- A bottle (A soap or lotion pump dispenser works nicely.)
Mix 3 parts rubbing alcohol with 1 part aloe vera gel. So, for 1 cup of hand san sanitizer, you’ll mix 3/4 cup of the alcohol with 1/4 cup of the gel.
The rubbing alcohol sanitizes your hands while the aloe vera moisturizes them.
Tea tree oil is your best option for your essential oil. It’s antiseptic and antibacterial. Lavender goes well with it and it’s calming. Lemon essential oil is a good addition to offset the tea tree’s aroma. Cinnamon is another great antiseptic. You’ll want about 10-12 drops or so each.
Mix everything together thoroughly, stirring by hand, pour into your bottles and your homemade hand sanitizer is ready to use.
